Utilizing the 'Mental Model Building' Instructional Methodology, Coupled with Actual Lunar Observations and Data Gathering, in Teaching the Cause and Process of the Lunar Phases

We will determine the effectiveness of the Mental Model Building teach-ing methodology, coupled with actual astronomical observations of the Moon, in the students' conceptual understanding of the cause and process of the lunar phases. This project will also introduce the students to the use of the scientific method in actual lunar observations.
