A Two-Stops Path Planning Method for the First-Aid Emergency Rescue System

We have designed and implemented the real time rescue system which includes the two-stops shortest path algorithm to direct helpers to get a AED and then to the emergency scene for the first-aid rescue to patients with sudden life-threatening heart attacks. The two-stops shortest path includes 2 subpaths: (1) a subpath to the best one of nearby AEDs for the first stop, and (2) a subpath to the patient location for the second stop. The difficulty of the design of shortest path algorithm is that there are many choices of AEDs nearby the patient in the first stop and the shortest path should contain one of AEDs before reaching the patient location. And the computing time is also the critical issue in the design. Through the evaluations, our algorithm can complete the calculation within one second which meets the requirements of the emergency rescue mission.
