Association between arsenic methylation capacity, DNA oxidative damage and skin lesions in a population chronically exposed to arsenic in Inner Mongolia, China

摘要

Arsenic (As) exposure in drinking water is associated with several diseases. The most common ones are skin lesions including hyper-pigmentation and hyperkeratosis. Up to now there have only been a few studies into the association between As methylation capacity and As-related skin lesions and these have generally produced inconsistent results. The present study aims to explore the relationship between As methylation capacity, DNA oxidative damage and skin lesions.
