The focus of this paper is to describe studies on pre-prepared hydrophobic CdSeS(ZnS) quantum dots (QDs) at the air-water interface. Surface pressure-area (π-A) isotherms were extensively studied using QDs capped with either trioctylphosphine oxide or triethylphosphine oxide. The role of these two different ligands on monolayer behavior and thin film quality has been investigated using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The thin films were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fluorescence spectroscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
