As one of the most promising power sources, lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used in the past decades. Their applications have been expanded from small devices such as cellphone and notebook to large devices represented by electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles [1,2]. Consequently, favorable high-rate performances of LIBs are expected. Hierarchical porous carbon which possesses the characteristics of high electrical conductivity, short path for ion diffusion, and good wetting quality with electrolyte has been frequently researched as anode material of LIBs [3-6]. Here, we design and fabricate a novel type of hierarchical porous carbon nanosheets (HPCS) by a simple and efficient route. The morphology and electrochemical behaviors of HPCS were investigated to evaluate its property, especially the rate performance.
