摘要

The souring of petroleum reservoirs can increase the concentrations of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in gaseous, oil and aqueous phases of produced fluids to the point of creating serious corrosion and operational risks. It is necessary to study the distribution of H2S in different phases at different pressures and temperatures, similar to that of reservoir fluids along the production lines, from the reservoir rock up to the surface. The studies are useful even for selecting a suitable chemical scavenger for removing H2S. Chemical process simulation programs have been widely used by process engineers to design, test, optimise, and verify experimental processes and the objective of this exercise was to simulate the physicochemical equilibrium of hydrogen sulphide in two or three phase gas/oil/water systems. The chemical process simulation program, Unisim Design Suite, R370.1 has been used to simulate the equilibrium behaviour of H2S in liquid hydrocarbons, The solubility of H2S was estimated in different conditions using different equations of state and was compared with literature values.
