The oil spill occurred on the morning of December 7, 2007, due to the accident between a barge and a supertanker in the Yellow Sea in Korea. The oil, spilled by the accident, destroyed many fisheries and the aqua system where 2,500 species of plants and animals inhabited. No one could estimate the time for recovery and the amount of damage from the accident because this spilled oil was the largest quantity until now.
