The renewal of three soil Standard Reference Materials: SRMs 2709a San Joaquin Soil, SRM 2710a Montana Soil and SRM 2711a Montana Soil are currently in process at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). These soils are intended for quality assurance applications by laboratories involved in analysis of soils, sediments or materials of a similar matrix. NIST Soil SRMs are used worldwide in conjunction with analyses performed for a variety of environmental and agricultural purposes including soil monitoring, remediation and analytical method validation studies.
