HyperSCSI was designed for the transmission of SCSI data across existing Ethernet network infrastructure. Compared with iSCSI and FCIP, HyperSCSI integrates the network storage traffic characteristics and well established network capability. But HyperSCSI is insufficient in reliability. To overcome the shortcoming of it, we present a RH-SCSI (Reliable HyperSCSI) protocol, which is designed based on HyperSCSI, and it adds ECC (Error Checking and Correcting) mechanism to HyperSCSI layer. The performance of RH-SCSI is analyzed, and the simulation results show that the presented protocol is efficient.
