A Theoretical Insight on E-Banking (Internet Banking) Framework in Developing Countries

This study reviews relevant literatures on e-banking, its adoption, benefits, challenges and measures taken to mitigate identified challenges from existing research. Given the host of cultural and infrastructural issues that have created major difficulties in the previous attempt to implement e-banking in Nigeria as a whole, the central bank of Nigeria (CBN) deemed it wise to use Lagos state as a pilot ground for the implementation of this financial practice in Nigeria. This review highlighted the historical events, attitudes of Nigerian citizen towards e-banking and factors that contributed towards the eventual implementation of the cashless transaction policy in Lagos State Nigeria.
