The competence of working in groups is central in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Therefore, lecturers’ experiences using this methodology are helpful to understand how it influences student’s satisfaction with the subject and which its effect on students’ evaluation is. In this paper we explain the use of the work in groups as learning-teaching methodology during the last two academic courses (2009/2010 and 2010/2011)in the subject Business Management. This subject pertains to the second course of the Degree on Business Management at the University of Valencia, and this is the last year before its adaptation to the EHEA. More precisely, this study has three objectives. First, to explain the methodology used in the subject practical classes: work in groups. Second, to analyze students’ satisfaction and interest of the subject with the implementation of the work in groups methodology. Third, to assess students’ learning after the application of the work in groups methodology. To achieve these objectives, we present the results of two surveys carried out on a sample of students’ during both courses examined. The results of the paper show that the work in groups results in highly satisfied and motivated students. However, the results of students’ learning depend on the measure analyzed.
