摘要

In Norway we introduced in 2006 a new national curriculum (National Curriculum for Knowledge Promotion in Primary and Secondary Education and Training--( LK06)) for the 1.st to 10.th grade in our compulsory public school. Here a new interdisciplinary subject was introduced: Technology and Design (TaD). For the first time in our school history, we have got a practical, hands-on technology subject. The new subject introduces the students to well known everyday tools, processes and systems which ease our daily work as well as contribute to our prosperity and welfare. It is a wide concept, and what is important: it is clearly defined as an aspect of culture. The subject replaces the previous arts and crafts--in woodwork, textile, drawing, and clay--elements that in a Norwegian context to a great extent has been linked to finer art.
