Strategy to Produce GI for Electric Cabinet at Low Cost at Ansteel

The thick GI strips for electric cabinet normally have high coating mass, and shall be produced at high speed to achieve good surface quality. But at Ansteel high line speed cannot be achieved due to the annealing capacity. After a study of the influence to the final product property from hot rolling process, cold rolling or annealing process, and also through the study of forming character of the GI products for electric cabinet, we found out and set up the strategy to produce such products at low cost at Ansteel. The strategy is to use common low carbon steel without RH treatment, to increase HR coiling temperature, to keep large grain size before cold rolling and to control the Fe_3C level in order to offset the problem from short annealing time and low annealing temperature, thus we achieved proper microstructures and mechanical properties, and the product meet forming requirement for electric cabinet.
