Regenerative Burners in Double-P-Tubes - Several Years of Operating Experience

The first vertical galvanizing line, completely equipped with double-P-tubes, was commissioned in 2001. Since then, several thousand tubes were put in operation, mostly in combination with self recuperative burners. To further reduce waste gas losses, newly developed self regenerative burners were used. More than a thousand of double-P-tubes with self regenerative burners are in operation for several years now. Operating experience regarding tube design, burner and furnace control, fuel flexibility, maintenance and performance will be presented.
