Automotive fuel tanks are used in a very harsh environment. The inner side of the fuel tank can be used in a complex environment such as mixture of moisture due to condensation, organic acid that occurs in accordance with the aging of the fuel and various fuels. The outside of the fuel tank are exposed to the various corrosive environments and a variety of atmospheric exposure such as snow removal for calcium chloride and contaminants. In order to be used in such an environment that can serve as a barrier for substances that cause corrosion and corrosion-resistant galvanized steel sheet as well as the development of a thin film coating is also important. Accordingly, instead of conventional zinc plating, zinc-nickel alloy plating steel is applied to fuel tank steel and thin film coating solution was developed. The newly developed steel for fuel tank has excellent corrosion resistance and fuel resistance. Pressing, welding, and painting ability for mass production of fuel tank are also excellent.
