Aseptic intermittent catheterization in acute phase followed by bladder training was considered to be mandatory for sound life of SCI in the past. However, since around 1975, the clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) affected the treatment modality for SCI. How to control the overactive detrusor for effective CIC became next subject of urinary care for SCI. Anti-choliner-gic drugs, intravesical instillation of oxybutinine or resinifelatoxin (RTX), botulinum toxin injection and nerve blocks of overactive detrusor has been tried to increase QOL of SCI.
