摘要

At the end of 2005 the first 380kV XLPE insulated cable system with forced lateral cooling and magnetic field limitation was successfully commissioned in Vienna, Austria. The design of this project required to coordinate all engineering activities (cable construction, civil works, magnetic field limitation, etc.) in order to meet the end user's performance requirements. The main driver from the engineering viewpoint was to limit the complexity of additional hardware other than that of the power system (cable, joints, terminations) and therefore to design simple and reliable solutions tailored to the specific project and to the cable technology. The result was the development of new, innovative engineering solutions mainly regarding magnetic field compensation and thermal design, details of which are described in this paper.
