After 10-15 years of experience with MPM's the users are still learning, and it is likely that there is much that they do not know. Some pointers for the future might be: 1. MPM sizing -^sSize the meter properly!! Do NOT go for 'the next size up' - even consider two (or more) meters in parallel in order to ensure rangeability. 2. Recognize that the difficult processes for many MPM's are: (1) high and variable GVF's and WC's (>85percent); (2) variable fluid salinity, conductivity, impedance; (3) variable fluid densities, oil and water with similar densities; (4) variable fluid viscosities, viscosity and Reynolds No. are related; (5) erosion from sand is possible and in some fields probable; (6) a good PVT simulation to convert from line to standard (or Separator) conditions is needed; (7) SAGD processes may have to consider 4 phases (ie oil, water, gas and steam), plus the high temperatures; (8) Sampling, analysis and MPM tuning will be continuous through the life of the field; (9) Vendors (and Operators) should address measurement and processing speeds in order to reduce uncertainty.
