Visible-light sensitive photocatalysts have attracted considerable interest because of the effective use of sunlight or room light. In the present paper, we have studied the paramagnetic species generated by visible light irradiation of nitrogen-doped titania (N-TiO_2) and zinc oxide (N-ZnO) prepared by a mechanochemical method.
