GHG LCA's that do not take indirect and macro effects into account do not paint the true global emissions picture. Social issues, of paramount importance, are likely to be completely ignored by any 'sustainability critieria'. The expansion of industrial monocultures in the Global South needed to meet EU targets, regardless of certification, will not produce sustainable agrofuels. Alternatives without the same far-reaching negative impacts and with more certain GHG reductions exist.
