Preserving our collection - the new building of the Shanghai Library

摘要

This paper examines the regulations of the Chinese National Standard for Library Building Design where collection preservation and disaster prevention are concerned. It describes how the design of the Shanghai Library new building abides by these regulations, and discusses what special plans are established in the library for disaster preparedness and management.
