One of the most hopeful approaches for solving the environmental issue is to reduce production and disposal amount of artifacts by closing product life cycle loops. For this purpose, we are proposing the concept called "Inverse Manufacturing". In this paper, we firstly describe the concept of Inverse Manufacturing that is based on two main ideas; closing life cycle loops and creating new business chances. Next, basic flow of life cycle design and its issues are clarified. Especially, importance of life cycle strategy is emphasized. For supporting decision making of the life cycle strategy, two tools are proposed with some examples; the Disposal Cause Analysis Matrix, which is based on QFD (Quality Function Deployment) methodology, and the Life Cycle Simulation System.
