FATE AND EFFECTS OF NATURALLY OCCURRING SUBSTANCES IN PRODUCED WATER ON THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT

In 1994, the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers, OGP, then know as the E&P Forum prepared a report on contaminants in produced water discharges in the North Sea. This report had two principal functions; first to collect data from the industry as a central resource for operators in the North Sea and, second, to inform to the extent possible the growing debate in the regulatory commissions on further controls on produced water discharges.
