摘要

Bonded solid lubricants (BSLs) are employed extensively to lubricate lightly loaded mechanisms in industrial, domestic and office applications. They comprise a mixture of materials with low friction properties such as PTFE, graphite and molybdenum disulphide with a bonding agent, typically an epoxy/epoxy phenolic resin or polyamide-imide resin. A study by these authors has previously described the friction and wear behaviour of a BSL coating at high contact pressures [1]. The study reported here is directed towards investigation of the same combination of materials when contact pressures remain around or below the yield pressure of the coating.
