Nagoya Institute of Technology A new type of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) composite membrane with silicon-ion-rcleasing ability was prepared using aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES). FT-1RRS spectra showed that carboxy groups in PLA make a chemical bond with amino groups in APTES. After heating the membrane at 100 deg C, some chemical bond was broken and PLA in the membrane was converted from amorphous phase to crystalline phase. The release amount of silicon ion can be controlled by the heating condition of the membrane.
