The reconnection electromagnetic launch is an electromagnetic launch that uses the magnetic field reconnection to accelerate the projectile. The operation principle of the reconnection electromagnetic launch is introduced. The acceleration of the projectile is not a constant in the course of reconnection electromagnetic launch. A small-scale 3-stage reconnection electro- magnetic launcher using a flat-plate projectile is designed and fabricated. A velocity measurement and firing trigger system on the basis of a microcontroller and a computer is designed for the launcher. With respect to the high electromagnetic environment, some measures are taken to inhibit the electromagnetic interferences.
