The technique of blowing inert gas into a metal bath to strengthen the metal-slag reaction has been widely applied in almost every steelmaking plant all over the world. Among these methods, stirring steel by blowing argon is the most valued technique which can obtain the homogenization of temperature and the chemical composition of molten ' steel. When using bottom argon blowing technique, the optimal position and number of nozzles should be selected and determined, as well as the flow rate of the spray. Since the flow of a ladle being operated under high temperature is invisible, direct experiment and observation are difficult. Therefore, many researchers investigate the bath flow by water model experiment or mathematical model, so as to provide references for actual techniques and research.
