A Novel Double-stand 12-high Reversing Cold Rolling Mill

The design of conventional cold tandem rolling mill and single-stand reversing cold rolling mill could not keep up with the increasing demanding for thin slab continuous strip processing (CSP) technology development. The cold tandem mill has high production yield but the following disadvantage: large initial investment, large space requirement and the inflexibility and stringency of production plan. On the other hand, single-stand reversing cold rolling mill is more economic and flexible but much less efficient than the cold tandem mill. Double-stand reversing cold rolling mill is much more economy, flexible and efficient, overcomes the shortages of the traditional tandem cold rolling mill and single-stand reversing cold rolling mill. Recently, wide thin strips become more and more desirable to reduce product weight. It could apply to radiators of automotive and lead frames for the electrical industry. Even the general galvanized sheet is required to be thinner and thinner. However, at the same time the requirements of strip quality such as tolerance, flatness, and surface have increased. In order to satisfy the market demands, we designed the first known 12-high double-stand reversing cold rolling mill.
