DISTRIBUTION OF MACROLIDES,SULFONAMIDES AND TRIMETHOPRIM IN TROPICAL AND TEMPERATE WATERS:COMPARISON BETWEEN VIETNAM AND JAPAN

摘要

Increasing numbers of reports show the occurrence and distribution of antibiotics in surface waters in Europe,the USA and Canada.In southeast Asia,where agriculture and aquaculture are the dominant economic activities,there are potential inputs of antibiotics from livestock and aquaculture waste as well as from sewage.This contrasts with industrialized countries,where antibiotics used for human medicine are the major sources of antibiotics in the aquatic environment.Our previous papers demonstrated that intensive inputs of sewage and resultant severe pollution have been occurring in this region owing to rapid population growth.
