Simulation of Hot Gas Behaviour from Fuel Combustion inside the Galvanizing Furnace

This paper presents two-dimensional and V-channel models of the hot gas behaviour inside the channel of gas tunnel around galvanizing furnace. This study investigated the gas flow behaviour, heat transfer and temperature distribution, and temperature around galvanizing furnace. The assumptions of the system simulation the hot gases, are assumed steady state steady flow, it have the react between the air and fuel, heat transfer, and turbulence flow based on standard κ-ε model. The simulation is calculated by CFD Fluent v.5.5 program. From the calculation, to used the pressurevelocity coupling method: it found that the SIMPLE method to obtain the better velocity distribution than SIMPLEC, whereas the method of the second order upwind scheme should be use in this model. So it is Insulated the outside furnace wall and this has changed the old furnace shape to curved, it give effect to better temperature distribution. It economized on the fuel expense and reduced the damage of the furnace.
