摘要

Several legumes including field peas, chickpeas and faba beans characterized by a high carbohydrate content and thus may replace wheat carbohydrates in fish feed diets. High protein content of legumes may also enable partial replacement offish meal inclusion level, which is very important in economic basis. High demand of starch and sugar-rich sources at nowadays, due to the expansion of biofuel industry had led to the rise of prices of starch containing crops and wheat may suffer a price increase inthe next years. Antinutritional factors included in legume seeds can partially or totally be inactivated by heat processing, such as extrusion.
