摘要

Binary mixtures of liquid crystal polymers (LCP) and low molar mass liquid crystals (LMMLC) have attracted a great deal of attention from a fundamental and practical point of view . The viscosity of the LCP is dramatically decreased by mixing with small molecules, and it is also possible to produce an extended liquid crystal range. As a result, the switching rate is substantially enhanced in response to external magnetic or electric fields, e.g. in electro-optic displays.
