摘要

Phosphorus is an essential element for plant growth. Its deficiency is a major limiting factor for crop production in many agricultural soils in developing countries (Chien, 1995; Chien and Menon, 1993). The sharp increase in the price of raw materials used in the manufacture of water-soluble P fertilizers, and their escalating transport and application costs, as well as low agricultural commodity prices have resulted in a greater interest in the use of phosphate rocks (PRs) as a P source, especially for plantation crops.
