A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of single and double applications of Chaperone and CoRoN alone and in tax-mix combination on the yield performance of cotton. The study was conducted at a commercial farm in Nueces Co. Chaperone and CoRoNwere applied once or twice (early bloom or early bloom and mid bloom) at rates of 5 oz/A and 25-0-0 at 0.5 gallons/A, respectively, either alone or combined in tank mix. Intense water deficit dominated most of the phase of boll growth limiting lint yieldthrough a decreased number of bolls per plant and the production of mid size bolls. The combination of Chaperone and CoRoN applied at early bloom and mid bloom helped overcome this environmental limitation and led to a significant increase in lint yieldthrough an apparent increase in boll mass. CoRoN alone applied at early bloom increased the number of bolls per plant, but because it also decreased the average boll mass, it did not produce an increase in yield. Neither Chaperone nor CoRoN had significant effects on overall fiber quality as shown by the loan value per lb of lint.
