In this work, original approaches based on GC X GC have been developed to obtain increasing molecular data on VGO or GO samples. Thus, boiling point profiles of the main hydrocarbon families were provided by HT-GC X GC for VGO. Distribution of specific hydrocarbon families was obtained by SFC-TwinGC X GC. Impact on molecular reconstruction algorithms (stochastic reconstruction and information entropy maximization) is also discussed. Finally, the representation of VGO as an optimized set of molecules could be improved using these new analytical data.
