摘要

To assess the energy performance of active envelopes at the building level, accurate modeling of the active envelope is essential. Five different models for a mechanically ventilated active envelope are compared to each other and to in-situ measurements. It is shown that models not considering the vertical temperature gradient and not separately dealing with convection and radiation, are unreliable. A sensitivity study with the numerical model reveals that the air temperature at the inlet of the cavity, the airflow rate and the distribution of the airflow in the cavity are the governing parameters.
