Characteristic feature of laminated structures is the primary importance of transverse shear and related warping of normals, both for global and local scale effects, as documented by many papers. Consequently, a large amount of research is found aimed to incorporate warping into plate and shell models by accurately modeling the layer-wise kinematics.
