This paper summarizes an experimental investigation of the mechanical properties and failure behavior of 6- and 8-node carbon/epoxy IsoTruss~(TM) structures (see Fig. 1) loaded in tension and compression. The structures were manufactured using a consolidation technique involving Kevlar-wrapping (see Fig. 2) of Thornel 12K T300 C 200 NT carbon fiber and Shell Epon 826 epoxy members (room temperature cured). The resulting fiber volume fractions were about 14% lower than autoclave-cured specimens made with 50K Fortafil 3(C) fibers.
