The use of design data generated through design interpretation - a case study

摘要

Design Interpretation [1] is a methodology to systematically analyse a design and generate data at different levels of abstraction. This paper gives a brief description of Design Interpretation and describes how the methodology is applied to establish the data describing the designs of a washing machine and a dishwasher. The generated data is then utilised to illustrate how a common core design for the two products called 'Flexible Design' [2] can be identified.
