Pyrolyzed cobalt tetra (methoxyphenyl) porphyrine (CoTMPP) is a promising alternative to metal platinum as widely used catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).Since mid 70s a substantial research effort was devoted to studies on the mechanism of the electrocatalytic act of CoTMPP in ORR.These studies included detailed electrochemical evaluations as well as a broad variety of non-electrochemical,predominantly spectral methods.
