摘要

Tire design represented by large diameter, narrow width and high inflating pressure is expected to be the main stream of next generation tire design. It aims to reduce noise radiation surface, water film between road surface and structural deformation energy loss. Potential of this design was evaluated by standard test procedures using a tire having this design features and conventional ones. The results show that the new design achieves low noise and rolling resistance while maintaining good other performances. In addition, careful vehicle NVH design was found to avoid harshness deterioration even with high inflation pressure.
