In early development stages, several real driving emissions (RDE) test activities have to be performed in virtual environments in addition to real test drives. Besides serving as a reliable virtual control instance, the driver model must reflect a realistic driver behavior in these tests. Real test measurements are used to tune the model and compare test results to show to what extent real tests can be performed in a virtual environment. Because fuel consumption and emissions are significantly influenced by the driving behavior, different driving styles are specified by a set of intuitive parameters. In this paper, a sophisticated driver model is used to perform RDE tests and the results are collected and compared.
