In this study, PM components emitted from DME diesel engine were evaluated by gas chromatograph analysis. The PM emitted from diesel fuel powered diesel engine was formed by both the fuel and the lubricating oil for engine and injection pump. In case of DME powered diesel engine, almost all the PM was caused by the lubricating oil for engine and injection pump. There is no effect of adding 500 ppm of fatty acid type lubricity improver into DME on PM formation. Adding 3000 ppm of ester type lubricity improver into DME caused PM formation, however, the effect on PM mass was little.
