Basic Study on Automobile Interior Noise for the Supply of Voice Information (3rd Report) - Results of the mini-sized vehicle and small-sized vehicle with two measurement systems

While there are many noises in passenger compartment of vehicle, recent ITS devices often provide the information via auditory modality. It is important to measure the noise level for decision the safety way to present the auditory information. The interior sounds of three vehicles which were different in engine displacement were recorded with two head and torso simulators. The noise levels of several conditions such as vehicle velocities, window being open, and air conditioning were compared. We could obtain the basic data for examining the driver's auditory ability.
