Introduction of larvae of Galleria mellonella to sand enriched with two types of bacterial suspensions of the symbionts Xenorhabdus nematophilus isolated from Steinernema carpocapsae nematode and Photorhabdus luminescens isolated from Heterorhabditisbacteriophora nematode, has resulted in high mortality to the larvae. More investigations are needed if these bacteria are to be used in biocontrol of soil pest insects.
