Dry grinding is required as a must for the production of ground ore for a roaster plant. It could be sown that dry grinding could also have advantages like: handling of large capacities lower operating costs specially on high silica ores appropriate for ores containing water soluble materials Different dry grinding systems are available. Dry grinding plans require fine tuning of the system to help match the grinding action with the pneumatic transport. Thus, a thorough material test in the lab to determine the drying characteristics including a test to assess the proper dry grinding work index is the basis for a successful plant. Not to forget the selection of proper wear protection system at the various places in the plant. The appropriate wear protection system does cause additional investment costs, but will provide a very attractive return of investment due to lower maintenance costs and higher availability.
