SART is an excellent process for gold ores with cyanide-soluble copper. The process does not pre-concentrate the cyanide prior to recycling, so is suitable for milling in cyanide or heap leach applications. The process achieves high recovery of both copper and WAD cyanide (>95 percent). A high-grade (60-80 percent Cu) saleable copper by-product is produced. Reagent consumption (H_2SO_4 and NaSH) is practically stoichiometric. The process is simple, and capital costs are lower than alternative cyanide recovery processes. The process can be operated in a very safe manner with almost no risk to the operators. The process will have a significant impact on the Lobo-Marte economics.
