FLASH ROUGHING IN AN OUTOKUMPU SKIMAIR FLOTATION CELL: NEW DEVELOPMENTS CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Flash Flotation has undergone a significant evolution to a new concept known as Flash Roughing. This has been achieved after years of observation, testing and dedicated study of flotation behavior in grinding circuits resulting in the development of Dual Outlet Technology for the Outokumpu SkimAir. The past benefits of Flash Flotation remain and are enhanced by new benefits such as wider application, increased grinding circuit control, significant energy reduction and further improvements in recovery. Development will continue and new combinations of Flash Roughing and gravity separation devices will be tested to expore every greater improvements for gold producers.
