Over the past 18 months, the AuGMENT process has made significant progress in the road to successful commercialization. A demonstration pilot plant was completed which provided design criteria for engineering studies. Process flowsheets and metallurgical balances have been developed, as well as METSIM models of the process. Conceptual engineering studies have been completed for two major applications and preliminary economics have been assessed. The economics provide insight into the viability of the AuGMENT process with good DCF ROR values and reasonable refractory gold production cost estimates. These numbers indicate the applications are strong projects which can, with further development, provide commercial installations with increased gold productions and valuable profit margins.
