摘要

This article represents a non-traditional approach in teaching English to Russian students with the use of graphic-visual forms of representing professional vocabulary at non-linguistic department. In particular, it touches upon such notions as a frame, a frame model and issues of using them in pedagogical aims. A frame model is an effective technique to represent a professional course in a concept and terminology it is covered with. The concept frame modeling involves an ability to evaluate information in a proficiency manner and make evidence-based decision. Scientific and technological progress demands intensive education which comprises shortening and compact representation of information. The language of professional interaction of specialists maintaining needs of the subject field under analysis reflects the latest scientific achievements of the subject field and presents branch knowledge as a result of the cognition of reality and branch developments. We can define a terminological system as a cognitive model of terminology. This approach shows the students how to avoid difficulties in representing specific vocabulary in higher professional education.
